What is more important ? Lens or Frames ?

When I first started a business a few years ago, I would go to the office buildings to push and promote the glasses frame that we designed ourselves. In the process, I often encounter some very "smart" customers. No matter how I sell frames to them, they will block them back in one sentence: Don't sell the frames! The frame doesn't matter, so I only need the best lens!
I have nothing to debate with him when I encounter such a "smart customer." In their eyes, the lens are the most important, and the quality of frames is nothing to care about.
But in fact, the phrase goes that "good horse with a good saddle", which can be applied to choose your glasses. A good frame with a pair of ordinary lenses will not affect the optical performance of the lens and will not cause any harm to our eyes. However, if it is a good lens, it is not mounted on an accurate frame, not only can not play its normal optical performance, but also may cause damage to our vision.

This is not an alarmist. I will share with you the reasons why lens with bad frames will bring harm to your eyes today.
A few days ago, a customer sent me a private letter to tell me that he bought a new glasses at our company. The degree was the same as the original one, but after wearing it for 3 days, he still felt uncomfortable and a little dizzy. He even want to vomit, so he asked if there was a problem with the quality of the glasses.
The first reaction to his description was to ask for his old glasses. He sent me photos from different angles according to my requirements.

First of all, from the photo, his original old glasses frame is a "foreign trade", which is the style used to sell to foreigners.
Everyone must ask, what is the relationship? Not all glasses? Same as wearing. In fact, the parameters of the foreign trade in the nose pads, temples, and camber of the eyeglass frame are quite different from those of American eyeglass frames.
Some foreigners have a particularly low nose bridge, so their nose pads are designed to be 9 mm or 12 mm in height, and our American nose is short and designed to be 3 mm or 6 mm.
When the height of the frame nose pads is different, the angles are different when worn with the lens on the face. In addition, the inside of the lens is not the same distance from our eyeballs. As a result, what is seen through the lens will inevitably undergo subtle changes. Do not believe it? you can slightly change the angle of the glasses on your nose,  and think is there any differences.
Therefore, this customer used the wrong frame, and the same degree of lens was used behind it. The things seen through the lens will also change! When he is familiar with the original "wrong vision" and then touches the correct vision, he will feel dizzy and vomit.

Secondly, the customer's original old glasses have been worn for 4 years, the frame has been severely deformed, and the lens layer has been scratched. This will lead to visual errors and mistakes. You must know that the best service period of the best glasses is 2 years. This customer will wear a pair of wrong glasses for 4 years and over 2 years...
I ask you to let a left-hander suddenly eat with his right hand. Can he not be uncomfortable? In the same way, if a person who has lived in the wrong vision for 4 years suddenly uses the correct vision, can he adapt quickly?
So what should I do if I encounter such a problem? I arranged the after-sales service optometrist to solve the problem for the first time. We only need to lower the height of his glasses nose pads to the height of the nose pads of his original glasses. Then adjust the angle of the temple up and down, so that the angle of the lens he wears the new glasses is close to his original glasses, so that he will not feel dizzy and vomit.
However, this is not a long-term solution! We still need to fine-tune his glasses every other month or two until it is slowly corrected to the correct vision!

It can be seen that What is more important ? Lens or Frames ?
In addition, if you are using a "wrong frame" now, you must pay attention when choosing new glasses, choose a glasses that can adjust the height of the nose pad and the angle of the temple. Otherwise it will be uncomfortable, and your new glasses is useless!
